The Memorial Fund
Scholarship Award
The Len Seroka Memorial Scholarship Award, WRITE TO RACE™, was developed by Len's niece, Amber Seroka. The program offers a $1,000 scholarship to students interested in a racing career as Len was.
The students are to write an essay meeting specific requirements that state why the student wants to pursue a motor sports career and how he/she intends to achieve their dream. It should be at least 500 words, and answer why they deserve to win. Judges will include members of national race teams. The award will be presented during the Mile High National Event, an event that was Len's home event.
Background
Motor sports were Len's life. At the age of 15, he was the state go-cart champion in Pennsylvania. From there, he moved on to stock cars, sprint cars and midgets. He was a well known member of the "Pennsylvania Posse" always challenging the "World of Outlaws': When Len left his home in Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado, he joined the Bandimere Family and entered into the nitro funny car world of NHRA Drag Racing.
Throughout his motor sports career Len never forgot his struggle to make it in the motor sports arena and was determined to make the road easier for others.
He spent many hours visiting schools, participating in Bandimere sponsored school events, career days, and working with disadvantaged kids all through his dedication to motor sports. Therefore, it is very appropriate to memorialize Len through his passion to help youth succeed in motor sports.
